Eric Scheele

Eric Scheele is the Founder and President of KC Pier, a Kansas City foundation repair, basement waterproofing and structural services company established in 2016. His foundation experience began through KC Property Guys, the residential real estate investment and renovation company he founded in 2015.

After buying, renovating and restoring hundreds of homes across the Kansas City metropolitan area, Eric saw firsthand how expansive clay soil, changing moisture conditions, poor drainage and inadequate repairs can affect residential foundations. Foundation issues were so common among the homes his company renovated that he developed an in-house foundation repair crew to improve quality, scheduling and accountability. That operation became KC Pier, which began serving Kansas City homeowners directly in 2016.

Under Eric’s leadership, KC Pier has grown into a comprehensive foundation and home-services company providing foundation piering, basement waterproofing, bowed wall repair, wall stabilization, crawl space repair, drainage systems, sump pumps, egress windows, foundation monitoring, radon testing and mitigation, and other structural solutions. KC Pier’s connection to KC Property Guys gives Eric an unusually practical perspective: he understands foundation repair as a contractor, property owner, real estate investor and long-term steward of residential homes.

Eric is the author of “Foundation Repair & Basement Waterproofing: The Kansas City Homeowner’s Guide.” He has also written numerous educational articles about foundation movement, basement water problems, drainage, concrete settlement and home repair. His goal is to help homeowners understand the cause of a problem, compare appropriate repair options and avoid paying for work their homes do not need.

Before founding his Kansas City companies, Eric spent 11 years teaching chemistry and coaching golf at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. He later helped establish and grow TalkFree.com, an international Voice over Internet Protocol company serving customers and reseller networks across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Eric’s experience in entrepreneurship, real estate and foundation repair has been featured by USA Today, VoyageKC, City Lifestyle, BloggerLocal TV and the Business Brokers Podcast. He is also the founder of KC Shark Tank, a Kansas City business investment and mentoring initiative, and an owner of Foundation 1 and KC Mudjack. Together, these companies combine residential renovation, foundation repair, basement waterproofing and concrete lifting experience to serve homeowners throughout Kansas and Missouri.

Outside of KC Pier, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife and their grown children. His favorite activities include golfing, fishing, camping and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.
